Rebekah – A New Generation

Rebekah – A New Generation

Rebekah was born on July 13, 2019 to a very blessed family of six children whose Father is Jeancius Monestime and Mother Farah. Rebekah started breathing life at their home in inadequate conditions where there was no electricity or running water, common living conditions in Haiti for up to 70% of its population.

Rebekah’s father Monestime, was the most privileged parent of his neighboring circle since he was employed on the Island at that time in Cap-Haitian, where he earned $50 US Dollars for a 12-hour workday between 8-12 days per month — while most Haitians earns about $2 to $5 per day to sustain their family daily bread as most are self-employed selling food and wares.

Although Monestime has been unemployed, due to Covid-19 that has affected people’s lives all over the world, he and his team has established O.D.N.G.H. (Organization for the Development of New Haitian Generation) to address several issues affecting their community: (1) to build artesian wells for the community of (Man-Malèm) in Cap Haïtien that serves over 100 families; (2) a goal and focus to help orphan children; (3) the organization will also create a Hen House Project to provide income for the founders and to help the community at large.

The impact in Haiti is obviously catastrophic, aggravating the humanitarian crisis which has already existed for years. O.D.G.N.H. was developed to take leadership to create sustainable solutions
